BETTER TORONTO
To the voters of Toronto
Dear voters of Toronto, thank you for your support! I am Heather He, candidate for mayor. Today I am full of confidence to express my sincere wishes and commitments to you:
In this moment of opportunity and challenge, I would like to present to you a vision of Toronto's future full of hope and passion. I firmly believe that by working together, we can achieve Toronto's vision of sustainable development, social justice and happiness for our families.
I understand your desire for a better future, for safer, more just, and more prosperous cities. Therefore, my political platform is not only a guideline and a goal, but also a contract for us to work together. It covers our development goals in terms of economy, education, environment and social welfare, and strives to create a better life for every citizen. And all of this is inseparable from your participation and support. I sincerely invite every citizen to actively participate and contribute to the development of our city.
First of all, economic development and job opportunities are one of my biggest concerns. I promise to encourage entrepreneurs, promote innovation and entrepreneurship, attract investment, create a good business environment, and create more job opportunities for citizens. I will promote economic diversification, foster new industries, and support the development of small and medium-sized enterprises.
I will always focus on equity in Toronto's diverse communities. "The journey of justice has no end, but every step counts." As a mayoral candidate from the community, I know the challenges and needs faced by the elderly and vulnerable groups. I formed the Canadian Care Alliance in 2010 to implement a Care Bank and implement a care point system to advocate mutual aid among neighbours, build a safe community, and help vulnerable groups and single-parent families. I believe that the Care Bank can improve the entire social service system, so that caring people can get feedback, accumulation and inheritance, and truly realize that those who care, care to return. I pledge to continue to work on behalf of the elderly and vulnerable. An old man once mentioned to me the issue of free rides for the elderly, and I think it is feasible. Therefore, I included in the platform free rides for the elderly during off-peak hours. In this way, we can not only reduce the potential danger of the elderly driving, but also partially solve the congestion problem during peak hours, rationally utilize resources, without increasing the burden on the government, and at the same time reduce the economic burden of the elderly. I will also use the points system of the Care Bank to provide day care services for the elderly in the community.
I have been engaged in the education industry for many years, and I know that education is the cornerstone of changing cities and their future development. I will be committed to improving the quality of education, and I am also very concerned about the nutrition and health of children. Thirteen years ago, when I delivered lunch to my daughter, I saw another child anxiously waiting for lunch, which inspired me to propose a free lunch idea. I believe that free lunches can not only save parents the time and cost of preparing lunches, so that children can get nutritious lunches in time, but also promote interaction with teachers, so that every child can enjoy equal educational resources. My team has a complete free lunch plan, which can give citizens more benefits without increasing their taxes.
In addition, strengthening law and order is an important agenda that I focus on. I will adopt a two-tier structure management system to ensure that citizens feel at ease when going out and at home.
Traffic congestion is a very serious problem in Toronto. I will attract investment to build the Lawrence subway and the Carpool special line around the city. Road maintenance implements a responsible system to ensure smooth road surface and smooth traffic.
I have been in the real estate industry for many years and understand the urgency of controlling housing prices and simplifying the litigation of landlord-tenant disputes, and I can implement my effective solutions. First-time home buyer credits will also be available.
Toronto is very expensive, and I will increase the amount of underground parking lots and convert surface parking lots into apartments. I will increase housing for the elderly, shorten the application process for the elderly to apply for apartments for the elderly, expand resettlement housing to accommodate the homeless and provide training for re-employment, and provide timely treatment for those who are really sick.
Finally, I pledge to be honest and transparent, always putting the interests of citizens first. I will improve government work efficiency. "Owned by the people, governed by the people, and enjoyed by the people." I will establish a regular communication channel for the mayor, regularly report to the citizens on the progress of the government's work, and accept supervision and accountability. There is a saying that goes well: "Individually we can do very little, but together we can do a lot." I believe that only through unity and cooperation can we achieve real change and progress. These promises of mine are not empty rhetoric, but Toronto solutions that I have been thinking about for over a decade. It is also my firm belief and determination for the future of our Toronto. I believe that, right now, we are standing at the crossroads of history with a great mission and responsibility; I believe that only through determined leadership and wise decision-making can we lead Toronto to prosperity and progress; I believe that no matter what the background , everyone should enjoy equal opportunities and fair treatment; I believe that as long as we work together and move forward bravely, we can realize our dreams and make Toronto a better tomorrow! Let us move forward hand in hand to build our city into a more caring, fairer, safer, more livable, more prosperous and sustainable city.
Thank you all!
I can do more than you think
Some voters asked me today: How can you freeze property taxes and still provide free lunches for elementary and middle school students? The answer is, it can be done. I can increase revenue and reduce expenditure to support the implementation of my political platform.
At present, Toronto's finances are supported by tax revenues, and the government has a lot of waste and lacks strong leaders to talk to the provincial government to ask for necessary funds. Economic development and employment opportunities are one of my most important issues. I promise that if I am elected mayor, I will not increase property taxes. During my tenure, property taxes must be frozen. I will actively attract investment, create a good business environment, activate market potential, give full play to the initiative of entrepreneurs, promote innovation and entrepreneurship, provide more job opportunities for citizens, and increase the overall employment rate. issues that must be resolved. I will promote economic diversification, foster new industries, and support the growth of small and medium enterprises.
I have been in the real estate industry for many years, understand the urgency of controlling housing prices and simplifying the litigation of landlord tenant disputes, and I have developed very effective solutions. First home buyer credits will also be available. Please believe that I have the ability to solve the problem of affordability for Torontonians. Please remember, I am Heather He, No. 52 mayoral candidate, please vote for me. YOU Vote for ME, I Work for YOU! Let’s Stand Together, Work Together. Let’s work together to create a better tomorrow for Toronto! Thank you all.
